About Us

As a small business we look to be as cost effective as possible and HBO helps us to maximise our time effectively. We also rely heavily on the reports it creates as it helps us to oversee the performance of our business. We love how it tracks customers who have signed up for our marketing.

York Luxury Holidays was established 14 years ago to provide 5 star self catering in York for people who were looking for that extra 'wow' factor. We wanted to provide a 'home-from-home' where space, privacy and freedom could be enjoyed in lovely surroundings.

We have received many tourism awards, consistently receiving the top 5 star Gold self catering award from Visit England, which is awarded to less than 1% of accommodation providers. We are also very proud to have been the only property providers in Yorkshire to have won the tourism awards for providing the best luxury self catering accommodation in York, Yorkshire and England.

More importantly a vast amount of our customers return to us regularly, some two or three times a year. And that is our biggest accolade of all.

 

 

Why did you decide to add online booking to your website?

We wanted an online system to speed this up and to provide more security for customers making payments.

We recognised that online was the future of our business. We had initially started out in Print (magazines and brochures etc) and we were disappointed with the returns for the cost. Furthermore the time it took to place a booking was very slow. We wanted an online system to speed this up and to provide more security for customers making payments - rather than being over the phone, this would be protected online.

We reached out to numerous people but Paul was more responsive and more knowledgable than his competitors.

HBO was still relatively new when we were looking into it. The business was also new to us, so it seemed like we were at similar levels. We reached out to numerous people but Paul was more responsive and more knowledgable than his competitors. We felt assured by his communication, and over a decade later he is still as as communicative as before. Moreover he had links with a web developer who could help us with our website. A match made in heaven!
